My business began in Laguna Niguel, California back in 1990 when my husband and I started watching a few neighbors’ pets. Since then, we have moved to the east coast. Riverhead is where I began to pet sit a few neighbors’ pets. This was not a full-time job at that time because I had four children at home that needed my love and care. Now that the children are not little anymore and grown adults, I started up my business to a full time, insured, tax paying entity that is considered in our industry to be at a Professional level of pet care. I am careful who I allow into my pack to help watch after your pets. They have to pass my personal screening plus a background check. My business has been and continues to be insured by Business Insurers of the Carolinas. My business is also bonded. My training and Professional Pet Care certification are through Pet Sitters International. . Me and my team are ready to handle many unexpected pet issues that might come up while the pet owner is away.
I am the owner and actively walk dogs every day for my business along with other pet loving team members. Our team members love animals and go above and beyond when it comes to caring for your dog. You might just find some extra toys are treats left for you pet when you come back home. Even if it’s a short time visit once in awhile, we all end up bonding with your pet as they also do to us! We have never had a claim on our bond which goes to show you, we are there to take care of your pets and nothing else unless instructed to do so.
Back in 2018, I was the only attendee to represent Professional Pet sitters on Long Island. As our industry grows, I am pleased to see more pet sitters attending these educational conventions. I was also delighted to be chosen as the recipient of a scholarship out of then then 8,000 members (not sure what the membership is up to now) of PSI (Pet Sitters International), I attend the PSI annual Power of Connection educational conference in Myrtle Beach, SC in Sept. 2018. I sat in educational seminars that covered Pet First Aid Basics for Cats, Enrichment ideas for Bonding with dogs, Fear Free’s taking the ‘pet out of petrified’. Our business began in Laguna Niguel, California when we started watching a few neighbors pets. Since then, we have moved to the east coast, where we began as a “weekend pet sitter”, to our professional level. We background check all our employees, use custom pet and home insurance, we are bonded, and have taken hours of training through Pet Sitters International, to handle many unexpected pet issues.
Of the 8,000 members of PSI (Pet Sitters International), I was the one Professional Pet Sitter form eastern Long Island to attend the PSI annual Power of Connection educational conference in Myrtle Beach, SC back Sept. 2018. I sat in educational seminars that covered Pet First Aid Basics for Cats, Enrichment ideas for Bonding with dogs, Fear Free’s taking the ‘pet out of petrified’. Also, out of PSI’s memberships, I was awarded the 2018 Dotty Shantz Scholarship Recipient in recognition on my commendable business goals and contributions to the professional pet-sitting industry. The scholarship allowed me to attend this conference and be part of a group of pet loving individuals and learn hot pet tops.
